Jim Messina is the Democratic candidate seeking to represent Western Wake County, North Carolina in State House District 41. Jim is a proven business leader, community leader and social entrepreneur. Jim grew up in Sharon, MA, as the son of two educators who taught him to take an interest in his community from a young age. He takes inspiration from his brother, who though afflicted with Cerebral Palsy, worked his way through community college and now has a career in Social Work. In the General Assembly, he will fight to ensure the same opportunity for all, regardless of social location.
Jim and his family moved to Cary seven years ago from Texas. Currently, he leads Business Development at hesketh.com, a Raleigh-based Web strategy and consulting firm serving non-profits and educational institutions. He is also the founder of a healthcare technology startup that helps community health centers more efficiently serve underinsured and uninsured populations. Jim is a graduate of Harvard University in Cambridge, MA with a BA in Government. Jim’s passions include coaching his kids’ baseball and basketball teams, history, and politics. He lives in Cary, NC with his spouse Suzanne and their three children Caitlin, Brian, and Stephanie.
